About This Piece

Nervura Table Lamp

The Nervura takes its name from the Latin word for rib — the architectural element that gives a vault its strength. Sixty precision ribs radiate from a cylindrical stone-white base, rising and narrowing into a mushroom-form silhouette that has become one of the most quietly iconic shapes in contemporary lighting. What sets the Nervura apart is its relationship with the bulb inside it. Where most table lamps cast light outward, the Nervura transforms the entire shade into a luminous object. Each rib acts as a micro-diffuser, and the warm-white LED within turns the pleated body into a column of soft, even glow. In darker rooms, the effect is hypnotic — the shade appears to be made of light itself. The contrast between the matte, ribbed shade and the smooth cylindrical base gives the Nervura a studied restraint. The colour is not merely applied; it is integral to the filament — the shade is printed in rich, saturated hues that hold their depth whether lit or unlit. Designed and printed in India. Includes warm-white LED and 1.5m braided cord. Compatible with any E27 bulb up to 9W.
